Do extensions require a consultation?
Yes. All new extension clients—whether you’re new to extensions or new to The Bird House—begin with a complimentary, in-person consultation. This gives us time to understand your goals, assess your hair, recommend the right method, and provide an accurate estimate for timing, pricing, and maintenance before anything is booked.
What types of extensions do you offer?
We offer a few different extension methods, including tape-ins, wefts, and k-tips, so we can choose what actually works for your hair and what you’re trying to achieve.
K-Tips are Individual keratin-bonded strands applied piece by piece. They offer the most flexibility in placement and are ideal for highly customized results.
Wefts are rows of hair that are secured to a beaded foundation. They are a good option for clients who want noticeable density and like the feel of a more consolidated installation, rather than many individual attachment points.
Tape-Ins are lightweight panels that sit flat against the head and are great for adding fullness or length with a soft, seamless feel.
During your consultation, your stylist will help determine which method makes the most sense based on your hair, your goals, and how you plan to maintain your extensions.
How is extension pricing structured?
Most extension installation services are priced hourly, based on the stylist’s level and the extension method used. All new installs are booked at a two-hour minimum. This allows us to account for differences in technique, density, and customization from client to client.
Is the cost of the hair included in the service price?
No. Extension hair is purchased separately and ordered specifically for you based on your color, length, and texture. Because the hair is custom-ordered, it’s non-refundable once purchased. Hair options and pricing are always reviewed during your consultation before anything is ordered.
What is your cancellation policy for extension services?
Extension services follow our standard cancellation policy. Appointments canceled within a 24-hours window are subject to a 50% service charge. For appointments estimated at 5 hours or longer, or totaling $600 or more, 48 hours’ notice is required.
Do extension services require a deposit?
Yes. All extension services require payment for the hair, which is purchased specifically for you at the time of booking. Hair purchases are non-refundable. For extension appointments estimated at 5 hours or longer, or totaling $600 or more, a 50% service deposit is also required in addition to the hair cost. The service deposit is refundable as long as the appointment is canceled outside of the 48-hour window.

Your extension service includes professional installation, a blending haircut to ensure a seamless finish, education on at-home care and maintenance, and a curated extension care kit with recommended tools and products. Your stylist will also guide you on when to return for check-ins and maintenance.

Do you offer small density fill-ins?
Yes. We offer a Mini Fill-In service for clients who want to add a small amount of hair to fill in specific area. It’s meant for subtle support, not a full extension install.
Mini Fill-Ins are limited in scope and priced as a flat fee, with hair cost charged separately. During your consultation, your stylist will help determine whether this is the right service for what you’re looking to achieve.
How do adjustments work for extension services?
We want you to love your hair. Extension services follow the same adjustment policy as all other services at The Bird House. If something doesn’t feel quite right, let us know. Your stylist will guide you on next steps and timing, and adjustments may involve additional service time or hair depending on the request.
