STYLISTS

Named by Brooklyn Magazine and New York Magazine as one of New York’s top stylists, I’m still blown away that I get to do this incredible work in my own studio. After spending basically my entire life styling and cutting people’s hair, I became officially trained by the brilliant minds at Union Square’s Carsten Aveda Institute, where I learned the fine art of French haircutting and color chemistry. I also quickly grew to understand and appreciate the emotional connection we all have with our hair, and it’s a truth I carry with me during every appointment. After completing my training, I began working at a high-end salon, and in 2011, I opened my own studio. Opening The Bird House has been a wonderful and thrilling adventure, and it is such an honor to have you as clients and friends.

With extensive training and high-end experience in both NYC and Philadelphia, PA, I am thrilled to be a part of The Bird House team. I began my training at Philadelphia’s Jean Madeline Aveda Institute, then was certified under DryBar’s rigorous training program, and additionally worked with the Glam Squad, under the creative direction of Frederik Fekkai veteran, Giovanni Vaccaro. I love creating both on-trend and classic looks through flattering cuts, vibrant color, meticulous barbering, and tailored styling techniques. My goal is that when you leave my chair, your unique look suits your face and personal style.

GINA

MASTER STYLIST
EDUCATION DIRECTOR

Born and raised in North Carolina, I always knew I’d be a hair stylist. I started out by giving family and friends makeovers and by the time high school came around I was doing hair for everyone I knew. I graduated cosmetology school in 2009 and haven’t looked back. I spent a while as a haircut educator, passing on my knowledge and precision skills to fellow artists. Aveda trained, I love creating all shapes and color on hair but mostly I love giving people the hair they have always wanted. I can’t wait to see you in my chair!

MEGAN

MASTER STYLIST

I grew up in a gorgeous small town in Alaska, but despite the incredible beauty surrounding me, I always knew I would someday move away. So I was beyond excited when I took the leap in 2008. I moved from Nome, Alaska to New York City for beauty school at the Aveda Institute, and have since worked at some of New York’s top salons. I love it all, from curly hair to hair painting, and it’s my highest goal to use detailed precision to help my clients look and feel amazing. I can’t believe I get to spend my days doing this work—I wouldn’t trade that connection for anything!

MELODY

SENIOR STYLIST

I’ve had almost 2 decades of experience as a stylist and makeup artist, and I still love it so much—the variety it brings, the ability to get to know so many wonderful people, and the ability to mix artistry with technical skill. I specialize in color (I am  a Redken Certified Colorist), balayage, curly hair, keratin treatments, and thick hair textures. It’s so important to me that when you sit in my chair, we have a thorough, in-depth consultation, where we analyze your lifestyle, face shape and hair type to help create a personalized look that will also keep your hair healthy and happy.
My work has been featured in several editorial spreads and runways. I have a Bachelor’s degree in marketing and in my spare time, I love going to the beach whenever possible.

MICHELLE

SENIOR STYLIST

Originally from eastern Long Island, I have been working behind the chair since graduating from Long Island beauty school in 2014. Growing up I was always intrigued with hair and makeup – I would constantly find myself acting as a stylist to all of my friends and family. After landing my first job as an assistant at a high-end salon on Long Island, I quickly became a stylist after just a few short months. Eager to learn, I enrolled in classes weekly and eventually, after building up clientele, I opened up my own studio. Craving for more knowledge and career advancement, I recently made my move to New York City. I am fortunate where my passion is my career; great hair can make anyone feel as if they are on top of the world!! I focus on strong client relationships, where I feel as though my clients as family. I strive to meet your needs to ensure you receive that perfect style for who you are. I specialize in all color, cutting, hair extensions, up styles and bridal. I look forward to meeting you!

KALI

My passion for makeup and hair began around the age of 15 and only grew as I began to experiment with different products and looks on myself. I soon realized that a hobby I was passionate about could become a successful career! Born and raised in Philadelphia, I moved to New York to attend Arrojo Cosmetology School where I received training in hair styling. After obtaining my cosmetology license, I attended the Makeup Designory (MUD) master program to further my skill set, where I designed makeup for a series of beauty and fashion shoots and designed a range of characters. You can see some of my work at feliciatricome.com.
I look forward to meeting and working with you!
